I'm now on my second DVD (took the first back to shop and exchanged it, with same problem)

I get this same error message when installing from the DVDs:

"The instruction at "oc7c911420e" referenced memory at " ox156c1566". The memory could not be read.
Click on ok to terminate the program. Click on cancel to debug the program.

Ive tried creating a new folder on the desktop, copying contents to this folder and running it from the desktop...but get the same error message. Sois it a data prob?

Does this mean I've hit on a bad batch of DVDs?

Any ideas?

Are you able to try the DVD on another machine, perhaps a friends one just to see if it might install there?

Perhaps try one of those DVD lens cleaner discs.

Good Luck.

but I'm copying the contents of the dvd to a folder and then running it from the folder ont he desktop and still getting the same problem?

I'd still be inclined to try the disk on another machine if you can.

Presumably you don't have problems reading other DVD data on the machine you are using?

sorry...now I get yr point.

Im copying the whole disk on my wife's laptop - a new core duo thing.
I'm then going to transfer the whole folder back into my comp via a portable hard drive

And then run set up from the orig comp, with the dvd in the tray for authentication purposes....

I'll see how it goes. Thanks again.
