Bad rendering issues

With some great help on another thread I was able to get my new system build up and running OK, but I now seem to have a graphics card problem...

The make/model is an MSi R5450 1GB DDR3 and has shader.3.0 and DirectX.11 capability and it works OK as such, but the rendering quality is not that good for a game that I play that has cryengine 2.0, and if I use the highest game settings I also get some lag; in fact it is worse than what I experienced with a 512MB card on a single-core, 2GB RAM system three years ago. To compensate, I'm playing in 'medium settings' mode, but then of course I'm not getting the full benefit of cryengine 2.0 which has me a bit miffed! The new build has 8GB RAM and is a dual-core AMD.

Anyway, I've been scratching my head over this and it could be something to do with the Memclock Value being set to 667MHz (= 1337MHz ram speed), when both the g.skill ram and the gfx-card states an operating speed of 1600MHz. Now, there is just one higher speed available in the Memclock Value of the BIOS which is 800MHz which would mean 1600MHz systems RAM speed and hopefully this would clear up the gfx-card problem, but the Asus m'board only allows 1600MHz overclocked value (and also 1800MHz OC), only I dodn't really want to overclock as this would increase temperatures.

So, would selecting 800MHz in the Memclock Value solve the gfx-card issue? The only other thing I can think of is that the card is faulty even though I have the latest ATI drivers on it.

Thanks, I would gladly post a screenshot but for some reason I'm still not able to do that. Anyway, would selecting 800MHz for the Memclock Value in BIOS help.

Ok, I tried 800MHz for the Memclock Value, but all I got was a long 'beeeeeeeep' after I saved and exited the BIOS followed by the system freezing, so I powered-down then rebooted and set it back to 667MHz, and now I'm OK again... So much for Asus saying that this m'board allows overclocking!
