Have had 3 serious crashes of windows today all of which have had a bsod immediatly followed by a automatic system reboot. 1st noticed no internet this morning which seemed to be a dhcp fault with the router so pluged cable modem straight in to pc then iNET came back to life fine. Shortly afterwards i had the first crash which gave me the follwoing 2 errors in event log :

Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c0000005, parameter2 badb46cb, parameter3 b986ab98, parameter4 00000000.

& :
Error code 100000d1, parameter1 00000036, parameter2 00000002, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 ba50a5e8.

Next whilst at work wife had same thing happen to her again which produced this error:
Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c000001d, parameter2 00804fa8, parameter3 bacc7cb8, parameter4 00000000.

Then just now had same thing happen although i was away from keyboard at the time, last one gave me this error :
Error code 100000c5, parameter1 00000000, parameter2 00000002, parameter3 00000001, parameter4 8054a168.

All of the above errors are system errors & i have just noticed one more serious error from "PlugPlayManager" which is :

The device Root\LEGACY_TAT\0000 disappeared from the system without first being prepared for removal.
Not sure if that one is related.

Am unsure where to start to be honest any questions on setup that could help gladly recieved.

Any big errors like that are usually knackered RAM. Not sure what could've caused it though over time, seeing as it was stable before.

thx for reply,
All pc stuff was purchchased from ocuk in jul-aug time iirc.

Is it worth running memtest on ram one stick at a time or try both & see if i can get an error?

****MOD PLEASE MOVE TO RAM SECTION****

After running Memtest86+ on both sticks of ram installed together and individually i have noticed numerous errors on both sticks of Ram,

I have not had to use memtest before, how many errors before the ram can be deemed faulty?

The RAM i have is 2 off GeIL 1gb PC2-5300 DDR2-667 CL = 4-4-4-12 (GX22GB5300DC). Which is 6 months old.

Obviously causing constant crashes followed by memtest86+ results have shown me the ram to be the problem, But i wondered how or what i need to do to get ram exchanged/replaced from OCUK.

Thx Sk1n

hi Biscuity, the crashes have only just started this weekend & it was only on investigation that i found the errors on the ram which i`m led to believe are the cause of the crashes.
Surely everything purchased new nowadays has a minimum 12month warranty with it. ?
