I got an email saying 2 girls "rated" my pictures, this was not the case, anyway, this site has somehow made a profile with pictures of me, which I can only assume it's got from Facebook.

Is this not illegal?? I don't understand what it is.

According to Trustpilot it would seem to be a scam.

Why do you think they got your details from Facebook? Presumably it's the same information, photo etc?

I would be more concerned that you have malware in your system.

I've ran Windows Defender and it has not detected any threats.

So it could be related to apps on my phone?

A friend of mine had it installed on her laptop a few months back, when i questioned it. It was some sort of dating thing? And she was aware of it, although embaressed when I questioned it.

I don't understand how Wikipedia makes out it's genuine, there is no login details needed as far as I can see.

My guess is you've joined and accepted knowingly, or unknowingly an app on Facebook either on your desktop or mobile, could be for something like a calender, dating, anything really.

After a bit of googling it appears that Badoo is a dating site with some dodgy data practices. Someone you know may have signed up to them and then they harvest the users contact list and fire off spam emails to that list.

I'm not entirely sure if there is any actual scam or phishing involved or whether it is just in the hope of signing up more paying members.
