Just loaded firefox, and it went straight to firefox google instead of just google (which was my home page)
then i noticed all my tabs have gone, then I looked in bookmarks, and ALL have dispeared (all 300 favs!)

Firefox has failed. It does that more often than people mention, generally. If you don't rely on the add-ons, I'd get Opera tbh.

I've had that happen a few times with XP. If you search the FF folders you can recover the bookmarks and the add ons

tis very easy to fix. close firefox and make sure firefox.exe is not running in the background. use taskanager to check this - you might need to "end process" if it's still running.

now goto start, run

firefox -p

now you should be able to select your old profile with all your settings/bookmarks intact. :D

er nah it was in documentsandsettings\applicationdata\mozilla\firefox and then find the file called bookmarks.htm there should be a few just pick the most recent. There should also be a folder with all your extentions in it.

I've never had this happen and have been using FF since FF has been around. I guess it just doesn't work as it should on certain combinations of system to be honest.

I always ALWAYS mention MOZBACKUP in every FF thread I see so once again, if you're wise you will use mozbackup.
