Does anyone have any recommendations for brands of bakeware that they can say, hand on heart, actually work properly? I'm getting increasingly frustrated that nothing seems to do what it says it will.

What I want is a nice range of non-stick bakeware, comprising of the usual assortment of baking sheets, roasting pans, cake tins and suchlike, that stands up to a bit of abuse and actually works as it ought to.

So far, I've been through the following ranges:

Mermaid - this ought to be just the ticket, being heavy-gauge aluminium and hard-anodised, but I've had their stuff in the past and it's about as non-stick as tile adhesive. And yes, I seasoned the bloody things as they instruct you to.

Lakeland's My Kitchen - this range seems almost ideal, being made from very thick metal with a superb non-stick coating. Until you realise that the coating falls off at the slightest touch, it's crappy steel underneath and everything starts to rust around the edges after being washed - just as well Lakeland will replace anything that doesn't work without batting an eyelid.

KitchenCraft/MasterClass - as above for this, as it's exactly the same stuff as the Lakeland range, albeit with a slightly broader selection of products and a much inferior returns policy.

Prestige - this has a more durable non-stick coating than Lakeland's stuff, but the metal is too thin and it warps something chronic when used at high temperatures unless the planets are in alignment and you've turned around and touched the ground three times before sticking it in the oven.

So, what's left after all that lot? Is the Circulon bakeware as good as the pots and pans? And what about Tefal's AirBake range? Or is there any own-brand stuff from department stores worth checking out?
