Hi

I'm looking fo a 4G router that can use multiple 4G connections at the same time to get a stronger & faster internet connection.

I have a 4G router that can get 20mbps on EE, and has a dual sim, but it's for failover (e.g. when one sim runs out of data it will switch to the other).

But I would really like one whic I can use multiple EE sims and even different network sims to achieve a far greater internet connection.

A question I have though is if 2 EE sims connect at the same time from the same location, is the total bandwith shared between the sim card or will they both have independant speeds (say 20mbps) and total 40mbps combined speed?

My understanding was that the two "paths" of 20Mb are just that. 20Mb. They won't give a 40Mb speed because nothing is actually going that fast. There is just more 20Mb bandwidth available.

I think you'd be better looking at individual USB modems then pushing them into a load balancing router that can span the connections separately but 4G is a bit out of my knowledge zone. In fairness it probably wouldn't be worth it.

Have a look at Viprinet and Peplink, both do load balancing 3/4G routers; there's plenty more companies out there as well.

And with load balancing, you split your traffic over multiple lines so (generally) once the bandwidth limit is reached on one, connections will then use other line(s).

Bonding is what is used to aggregate multiple connections, ie - bonding two 20Mbit lines would result in a 40Mbit line.
But i can't say i've seen a true 4G bonded solution other than Vodafone trialing DSL/4G bonding; only other solutions i've seen are typically based around P2P/tunneled connections.
