Balance transfers

I have just applied for a new CC for the balance transfer offer, I entered the amount that I thought was owing on my card, forgetting that I had made a payment that is not showing yet.

What will happen when the balance is transfered as it is different to what I entered?

Contact the credit card company the balance is being taken from, I expect they'll let the balance become positive but they might handle it differently.

The other option is to contact the new CC company and ask if it's possible to change the amount.

A lot of credit cards don't like / won't allow you to go into a positive balance.
When I was transfering a balance around between cards I always remembered to take away my minimum payment from the balance - if that was then taken all would be well, if not then I could manually pay that amount off.

Might be worth giving your new credit card company a call and explaining - ask them to reduce the amount they are transfering across by the "minimum payment" amount.
