I might be getting this, I heard it is really good but also really old, is it playable on vista? also any modification maybe to play on widescreen or to better the game?

I've played it on vista, and there is a patch someone made to allow you to play it over a wide screen.

I can't remember if this is the one I used but it could be this.

Have fun, at a proper resolution it's easier to get over the ancient graphics and enjoy one of the best RPGs. :)

I would suggest getting Baldur's Gate and all the expansions as well. Should be cheap as chips. You can play the original using the BG2 engine with a mod called Tutu. Loads of other mods/patches available as well.

Yeah, get the original and expansion as well as BGII and its expansion, then play it all the way through from beginning of BG to the end of BGII:ToB. You can pick the lot up all in one box for under £10. They are my favourite games ever released :D
