Baldur's Gate II

It was the first game of that type I ever played and totally changed my gaming life. Unbelievably immersive, and caused me to then seek all the similar games, Icewind Dale, Planescape etc etc.
I often remember childhood xmases by video games, the FFVII one and then BGII were two of the absolute best.

The good old days of playing this round my mates after primary school..

Quite like the 3D PS2 version as well, although I hardly played it (think that was round my friends too).

Planescape Torment was amazing. Very low res (800x600 I think?) but the attention to detail was impressive.

Classic game, I always remember stumbling on that lich in the dock district. He did some stop time spell and one shotted my whole party. Was like 14 years ago and i still remember it fondly lol.

I still miss the days of buying a big boxed game like this with a lovely thick manual to read and a nerdy collecters tshirt to wear to my local role playing club.

For sure, my box has seen better days though :( Sorry for the quality my phone is shocking.

GRAH! All that Effort For **** ALL!

Escaped Jon's Dungeon, Raided Nalia's Keep, Finished the Umar Hills and Temple, Killed the Beholder cult, Saved Jaheira, Saved Hear'dalis, Solved the Bridge Murders, Killed slavers at CC and compound and then after completing the Wild Mage extra Character Missions it seems the game has decided I now have to do it all again the Atkathla Map has been reset to where it was after escaping the dungeon and opened chapter 2 again only this time it's now chapter 3!

Ouch! That seems like a gamebreaking bug :(

Update: Well I had a brief mission around the maps and everything had reset  fortunately this seems to be a widespread problem and the beamdog devs have been communicating well with the BG forum community and have made this their top priority hopefully they'll be able to fix my Borked save if not then I'm starting from scratch once a fix is available

ohhh no,

I am just rushing through to get Imoen back in the team (for a change) then will start exploring all over again.

They really need to make more games like this. Stupid Skyrim etc doesnt even come close tbh.

Been playing through BG:EE recently, Really racking up the hours.

I'd forgotten just how good this game is, been a long time since I've played it.
I've even stopped playing crisis 3 as I'm enjoying BG so much
Just goes to show that even with all the fancy graphics of modern games A good story driven title will always be a winner.

Definitely going to get BG2:EE as I missed it first time round but will finish BG1 first.

I've never come across another d&d based game that comes close to Baldur's Gate 1&2 despite playing many different ones and I probably have just about every one including some really old ones. Though the others were all good games they just weren't the same. I always preferred the Baldur's gate engine to the Neverwinter Nights one.

I might get this if there is a sale but I already have the original so wouldn't pay full price.

Minsc (and boo) is still my all time favourite computer game character.

Go for the eyes, Boo, go for the eyes! :p
