I've heard a lot of good things about this game. I know it's a hard core RPG. Would you recommend it for a complete novice like myself? I bought the DVD set a few years ago on a whim........and i've still yet to install it!

I can highly recommended either;

Baldur's Gate Trilogy mod (BG1+TotSC+BG2) which makes those three games play as one, on the BG2 engine.

Tutu mod, which allows BG1+TotSC to be played on the BG2 engine.

Basically you've had the best game of all time on your desk and you've yet to install it! shocking!

Yes it still stands up well today and will give 'modern' rpg's a good thrashing.

Make sure you use baldur's gate trilogy or the tutu mod for the best BG1 experience however! Remember Baldur's Gate 1 is a lot slower and more exploration focused than BG2, but playing them through as one game you get a great sense of pace as it picks up more in the second game.

Argh, that reminds me, I've got F:Tactics lying around here somewhere. Had it for years, never got round to playing it... Ditto the Thief multipack...
