So... I bought BF3 last week, happy days.

Wouldn't think a small thing like OS would matter - but I find out after Origin is installed, BF3 doesn't support Windows XP!

WTF!?!!!?!

Had to express my sadness on here.

Super Sad Face, Depressing Christmas...

Am I the only one that this has happened to?

:(

Dear Santa,

Please could you give me a copy of Windows 7 - 64bit would be great, and also give me some more ram too.

Hmm... how to do it on the sly without wife finding out I am spending the dosh on 'computer stuff'? :P

Any real difference in real world gaming performance Vista vs Win 7?

I say that because someone has a copy of Vista going for a tenner, so I wouldn't mind going for that to play BF3

My machine is proper low-end, so I'd turn settings down to the lowest they can go, and probably do it at 800x600 :P

AMD X2 5600+ (2.8ghz)
3 GB Ram DDR2
HD 3850 512MB
(And of Course WinXP)

Keep toying with the idea of upgrading, but the wife would have me by the balls ;)

Yay, Win 7 installed as part of a dual boot.

Getting drivers updated and BF3 installed now :)

Looking promising - and it should run on low/medium settings at a low res! No different to any other games I play tbh. I don't tend to use all the bells and whistles!

Just google Win 7 Enterprise Trial - you need to be an 'IT Professional' in order to be given the option to download it.

It's a 90 day trial, but can be extended to 120.

Doubt you could get a full, no time limit version for free... legally!

Awesomeness.

So... BF3 does run on my machine at 30-40 FPS, 800x600, all settings low (pretty much). Still looks awesome though!

Poo poo to the haters who dissed my machine :P <strokes his pc>
