Right guys,
Got my lads Imedia B2619 computer here and bought a E6600 to replace the Celeron E1500 that was in it.
After swapping them over, windows would not load up and just BSOD after trying to load up. Sooo, did some research on the MCP73VT-PM motherboard that is in it and it turns out to be a re-branded GF7050VT-M5 from ECS. Downloaded the latest Bios update for the board and updated the bios.
Now it it just comes up with:
CMOS Checksum Bad
CMOS Date/Time Not Set
Press F1 to run setup
So i go into the BIOS and reset it to default settings and set the Date/Time and then save and exit.
Computer loads back up and gives the same CMOS error. So basically the BIOS isn't saving. I have tried leaving battery out, using the short circuits things and even bought a new battery. But no luck.
How do i go on about re-flashing the BIOS now then? I cant even get past POST.
Cheers
