Right guys,

Got my lads Imedia B2619 computer here and bought a E6600 to replace the Celeron E1500 that was in it.

After swapping them over, windows would not load up and just BSOD after trying to load up. Sooo, did some research on the MCP73VT-PM motherboard that is in it and it turns out to be a re-branded GF7050VT-M5 from ECS. Downloaded the latest Bios update for the board and updated the bios.

Now it it just comes up with:

CMOS Checksum Bad
CMOS Date/Time Not Set
Press F1 to run setup

So i go into the BIOS and reset it to default settings and set the Date/Time and then save and exit.

Computer loads back up and gives the same CMOS error. So basically the BIOS isn't saving. I have tried leaving battery out, using the short circuits things and even bought a new battery. But no luck.

How do i go on about re-flashing the BIOS now then? I cant even get past POST.

Cheers

Right just took the keyboard out and it still comes up with the error message but then loads windows up.

Voltage problem or memory timing problem then? Dont see how the keyboard would stop the BIOS from saving though?

Well sat looking at windows but cannot do anything at all as the both ps2 mouse and keyboard and the usb mouse and keyboard will not work on it.

The E6600 just kills the computer as soon as it tries to load into windows. The E1500 will load windows without the keyboard attached but then i am left with not being able to do anything at all in windows after attaching the the keyboard.

I best get looking at new PC as have a un-happy chappy right here giving me the dead eye lol
