Bambu labs Black Friday deals live

Their normal sale is on their anniversary on 6th June i Paid £739 for the P1S +AMS Combo and i believe that was the cheapest over the last year it had ever been so now with the combo for £669 its a great price.

Very few companies these days do a "one day only" black friday sale as it costs them too much. Excess demand and not the stock to fulfil order, then they waste hundreds ££ answering calls from impatient people, processing cancellations and refunds etc. Thats why there a common trend of most having 1-2 weeks of deals to spread order volume and to maximise stock availability

I bought an A1 mini as my first foray into 3d printing and honestly could not be happier. Will likely upgrade next year but £169 for the A1 mini I feel has been a steal so far

People get the AMS for multi colour and only later realise that while it is great for that, it's other upside is automatically dealing with spools running out mid print and just not having to faff around every time you want to print, while also keeping them all in a sealed box.

I was dubious about the AMS originally when I bought my X1C but quickly realised it's not just for multi-colour prints. Having a variety of filament types loaded and ready to pick from within the slicer was such a nice quality of life feature for me. My printers in a small cupboard under my stairs and it's not the easiest to spend time hunched over in performing maintenance. It was one of the things I hates with my Ender 3. Now I have none of that. In fact I generally only need to open the cupboard to retrieve my print at the end lol Also worth noting that filament switching for support interfaces were a game changer for me too. Near perfect supports that could be removed with ease that also left no scarring?! no brainer for me. The sealed box with moisture reporting is a nice extra to keep the filaments in as well as dealing with filament that runs out mid-print as DBT85 mentioned.

I liked the setup so much that I actually bought a 2nd AMS to expand the number of filaments and I had ready to use.

the only downside is the amount of purging that happens (Bambu poop) but that can be tweaked to make it less severe. For my use case, having a Bambu X1C with dual nozzle to handle a main filament and support interface material that is also connected to an AMS would be perfect

Honestly, my issue is less the poop quantity and more the time it takes to swap, often being like 10x longer than the time it is actually printing in that colour because it has to wind it allllll the way back to the AMS every time.

Not sure how the A series handle it as they have all 4 tubes running to the head, so it would make sense to only back the filament out that far which would be much faster.

I'd hope their next printer which is expected to be larger might run multiple (2 would be enough) tubes to the head to allow one to be winding back while the other is printing in the case of 3 or more colours being needed. The difference in print times would be drastic without needing to go as far as multiple or swappable print heads.

Yeah you're right there. I think I've just learnt to accept the time it add's but it's really noticeable on larger or more complex prints that require multiple changes for support material or colour changes. two tubes to hold filaments in place ready would actually be great.
