Ive just brought some hifi speakers and amp, the speakers have 4mm banana sockets. When looking at bi-wire cables in the pics on the net all the endings have banana plugs. Do banana plugs somehow fit onto amp power connectors?

edit: ive got a denon avr-2106

Hi there,

Some amps come with banana plug type sockets around the back but some only have the more basic spring loaded tabs you press to expose a hole where you insert your bare speaker wires.

However you can purchase some adapters that have bare wire on one end and a banana plug socket on the other. Its been a few years since I've purchased some but there were only a few quid for a pack of 4 adapters.

Ray.

You can still fit bare wire into the banan plug connectors as they'll unscrew too. Banana plugs offer a more secure connection and are easier to connect. You'll have to fit them yourself on to bare wire most likely anyway.
