I'm usually a rock/metal listener but thanks to spotify ive been listening to music I wouldnt normally. And I stumbled on massive attack. Obviously Ive heard the singles but I didnt know the rest of their work was so good.

As the thread title implies, Im searching for more music that is like massive attack, perhaps some bands I wont have heard of.

Thanks in advance

Sort of depends what era of Massive Attack you mean, but give these a try:
Portishead, Bonobo, Morcheeba, Lamb, Sneaker Pimps, DJ Shadow, Thievery Corp, Alpha.. And that Japanese guy that died recently whos name completely escapes me.

Portishead and Tricky are a great start, they've both worked with Massive Attack.

Death in Vegas are worth a try as well. Maybe Ghosts by NIN as well.

EDIT:
Monkey Mafia and David Holmes too...

I'm the same, mostly into rock/metal now but I went through an electronic music & trip hop phase around the late 90's :D

Some of the stuff I've got on my mp3 player that has trip hop influences:
Lamb
Portishead
DJ Shadow
Tricky
Blue Stone
Beth Orton (mix of folk and electronic on some albums)
Tweaker
101A (Japanese band)
UNKLE
Leftfield
Ruby (London band)
CocoRosie
Collide
Sneaker Pimps
