¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I've been hunting thru a few old albums today and found a few Kyuss albums and I've forgotten how good they are!

Any similar band or albums worth picking up?

Obviously QOTSA, also I'd say The Desert Sessions, Pixies, Distillers (to a point), Spinnerette (Brody Dalle's new project....seems to have picked up a bit of her husband's sound).

Monster Magnet, Fu Manchu.
Also try a Japanese band called Boris.

Screaming Trees were a bit Kyuss-esque too I think, but I haven't listened to them in years.

I've got plenty of QOTSA stuff, I like their first album the most. I'll check out those others tho, what the story behind the desert sessions?

Boris sound interesting... I've heard of Screaming Trees but I'll give them a listen as I can't remember the first time I heard them. :)
Maybe Clutch?
Not heard of them, I'll give 'em a go.

Desert sessions is Josh Homme playing with guest musicians. a lot of the songs are early versions of QOTSA tracks.

Try out Hermano, Soundgarden, Monster Magnet, Fu Manchu, Unida, Slo Burn, Karma to Burn, Orange goblin.

I would recommend Hermano but nothing has come close to Kyuss imo.

Cheers, Orange goblin rings a bell for some reason, I'll check all of those out tho...

I just love the instrumental bits mainly, but most of Kyuss' songs blow me away. I've also been listening to quite a bit of Frank Zappa recently, check out Joe's garage if you can. It's not very similar to kyuss musically but seem to have a similar vibe if you know what I mean...

The only bands in this thread there are even close are Fu Manchu, Monster Magnet and maybe Orange Goblin.

None of the others mentioned are anything like them. Screaming Trees... awesome band, but come on, they are NOTHING like Kyuss. Same for QOTSA, regardless of the fact that an ex-member is in them.

Fu Manchu would be your best bet, and also have an ex-member too. Start with Daredevil.

Calm down poppet! I only suggested Screaming Trees because Josh Homme and Mark Lanegan (QOTSA) both played in them.
And early QOTSA is actually very similar to Kyuss in my opinion. Have you actually listened to Rated R and their Self Titled album? Even some of Songs for the Deaf sounds like Kyuss.
