Hi guys,
really quick one here. I have a budget of £300 and I want to bring my computer out of 2009...

Relevant specs
PhenomII 965, XFX 5870
MA790FX, 6GB DDR2
Two average HDDs

This system can play everything at 1920 okay-to-great. But I want to max out BF4, the new Far Cry, turn up the Metro games higher... sort of thing. What would you guys recommend to upgrade, if I have a max of only 200-300?

I was considering one of the cheapest options- just CFing my 5870 with a second hand card. My only issue with this is there are games like GTA which I love but simply will not play well with AMD systems. Got to be NVIDIA. So a GPU upgrade may be on the cards. But if I invest in something like a GTX770 will my DDR2 and 965 hold it back?

Any ideas? I'd love to hear your advice.
Thanks

For these kinds of games the CPU is ok for now, but you really should overclock it. I'd go for a decent graphics card (forget crossfire with the old one). You'd get a massive improvement in most FPS games, and you can upgrade the base system later whenever you want to.

Maybe a 280X card, and a 120gb SSD to speed up load times. There aren't any problems with AMD GPUs.
