I embarked in an experiment to try and pair a 3080 with an unused laptop via an egpu enclosure and it was a failure. I posted about it here
Anyway, onto the next steps - I want to build a PC that focusses of price : performance over cost or performance alone. I think what that looks like is a low-end 7000 series cpu (it didn't seem to save much going to 5000)
But I haven't looked at hardware since 5000 series dropped, am I on the right course here?
