Would you experts say this is "bang for buck" for the cash? Where do you think I can make a saving?

Recommended by another expert so just wanted other opinions....

AMD Opteron UP 170 Dual Core San Diego 2.0GHz 2MB Cache (Socket 939) - Retail (CP-148-AM)
DFI LanParty UT NF4 SLI-D (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard (MB-013-DF)
MSI GeForce 7900 GT 256MB GDDR3 VIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-068-MS)
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC3200 Value Dual Channel Kit CAS3 (GE2GB3200BDC) (MY-046-GL)
Antec Sonata II Piano Black Quiet Case - 450W Smart Power PSU (CA-040-AN)

Total around £840......

When overclocked is this deemed to be a top rig?? Even if not as it matters?

Do you think the components are all value for money??

thanks in advance :)

you have steered away from the bleeding edge

what do you mean exactly?

Sorry let me rephrase when I say "top rig" to clarify I mean can you think of something that would beat it for the same amount of money?

I am aware there is better however at this point I am more concerned about getting value for money?

What dya think?

thanks for the feedback so far

why is the mobo n gfx card you suggested better than what I was told? I mean in what sense? How can you back up your claim?

I heard xt1800 is a noisey bugger and generates too much heat??

I made a small mistake in that I picked the 256 card instead of the 512 ( we all make mistakes :p ) but given both the 256 and 512 X1800XT's run at 625/1500 the statement I made is true.. the X1800XT IS quicker than a 7900GT without a doubt as the 7900GT is essentially a 7800GTX 256 which is beaten buy a 625/1500 X1800XT.

Does that mean the x1900 is even better than the x1800x and 7800gtx???
