Hello again i am back for some more advice :p

Been through all the threads, checked out reviews on all cards available on OCUK and even put down paper with sound cards on, blindfolded a sheep and let him pick something but he went the wrong way :D

So i have come back here to ask you wonderful forum people, what do you think is the best value for money sound card at the moment

Was easy building my system, grahics card was no problem but realy stuck with the sound card

As you can see in my sig i like a lot for little cash :D Using onboard sound so looking for a upgrade and some head phones, got £100 to work with ;)

Thanks for any help, info and combintions :)

Thanks a lot for answering my thread ;)

I am mainly doing games, videos and stuff for my daughters ipod:p Up most nights due to ill health so don't want to wake anyone up :D

As no one had got back to me i tried looking at a few different combinations of cards and headphones and usualy was around 80-90 quid so i just went for the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty Professional 7.1 Sound Card with Free Fatal1ty Headset :D and hope it plays nice :p

Will be with me in the morning as long as Intercity dont get lost :)

ps i did like the look of the xonar sound card

Thanks DQN for the info

A lot of ppl on the forum have said how good those headphones are, gonna ask for them for Fathers Day present i think :D

Got my stuff today, used the drivers from creative website and put the other bits on from the disk, sounds dam good tbh :D and its playing nice no problems

What surprised me the most is the temp drop on the DS4 chipset when i switched off the onboard sound, went from 50 down to 44 , big drop as i though it was the cooling, even bought new fans a few weeks ago and then put it down to the motherboard being a bit warm

Thanks to everyone for suggestions and stuff ;)
