Bang when stalling

I've been driving a few months now and have noticed if i put the car in 2nd gear and i'm going to slowly the car stalls accompanied by a bang noise. This bang doesn't happen when i stall in first gear so just curious whats causing it?

Gearbox, usually nothing to worry about apart from your embarrassing inability to drive

I wouldn't worry, it's perfectly normal in second gear. I *think* it's the synchros popping out of sync, I'm sure someone on here will confirm. I wouldn't make a habit of it though!
