Went to Santa Pod last week for the FIA Main event, was very difficult shooting conditions - so bright everything was just black and white. Still good fun though, the usual armada of exploding cars 300mph passes, sunburn and BBQs!

All shot with 1DS MkIII, either 300 F2.8, or 600F4 on a monopod, stood on a B&Q decorating platform for most of them!

Not the best place for a fire, doing around 130mph in the first 100yds.

Showtime Nitro funny car, puts in a 5.0 sec run at 307MPH, forget airshows and the Vulcan, this thing turns your skeleton to dust when it goes past

Evening light on the "Blown Nugget" Pro modified, good to see it back after 2007's meeting with the wall at 170Mph

Andy Robinson in top form again with a cracking reaction time and the car going straight as an arrow.

Mats Eriksson in the goblin, one of my fave pro mods.

I'm not into cars, I'm not into bikes and I'm not into racing, I think it's loud, polluting, unnecessary...and those shots make me want to be there

They are incredible!

The colour on the third pic is outstanding, is that a straight shot with magic hour light or have you processed it to get that richness?

Stunning work

Are you a pro by any chance? Can anyone turn up there and shoot with that sort of kit?
