bang

I finished building my pc last night. When i tired to boot it for the first time all i got was a bang. I didn't see a spark because i was in front of the pc.
I googled it and it said it could be a faulty psu. Is there anything i could have done wrong?
Everything looks okay to the eye but could it have damaged any components?

I was pretty methodical when i was building it. Most of the wires can only go in one way. What could i have got wrong the front panel connector?

I double checked all the wires and they all seemed to be right.
I turned the psu on first and nothing happened, it only went bang when i pressed the power button on the case. I don't know if that changes anything.

I tried the paperclip thing but got nothing. Just waiting for it to be collected and confirmed faulty now.

The psu was faulty, hopefully ill have better luck with the next one.
