I have seen this game recommended lots in various threads. I have been looking on amazon and there are quite a few versions. Deluxe, dice, fourth edition.

Which is the one to go for?

Good question, as far as I know these are the differences:

Bang deluxe
Comes in a fancy tin (which is a pain to store) includes the base game and the following expansions:

  • BANG! A Fistful of Cards
  • BANG! Claus "The Saint"
  • BANG! Dodge City
  • BANG! High Noon
  • BANG! Johnny Kisch
  • BANG! Uncle Will

Bang 4th Edition
Is just the base game in a box

Bang the dice game
Is a re-implementation of the core rules of Bang to use dice instead of cards.

I guess which version you go for depends on how much you like expansions, or dice. Or if it's just the base game concept that interested you.

Can say I thoroughly enjoyed the base card game but it may be worth checking the quality of the rules in the more recent editions.

The version I played had the original rules written in Italian and then translated to English but apparently only by someone who had never spoken a word of either!

Made for a trying experience but we got there in the end! :)

I played Halo Bang! a few weeks ago. I'd say it's an improvement, especially if you get into the mood and start issuing online shooter style disses when you hit or block someone.
