Bank Charges

Hi all,

What happens if you had a previous bank charge on your account to because you went over your arranged overdraft. Now this charge is due to come out on 10th March. I don't get paid till 16th of every month (Won't go in until 17/18th anyway)

What happens to this charge, does it still take it out? Thus making me go over my arranged overdraft again and therefore incurring another charge.

I'm with Natwest, I've contact them and told them my situation. But due to a previous good will gesture about a charge. They cannot do anything for me.

Never did ask the lady on the phone about what would happen, as for one of better words. It was hard for her to grasp the simplest of things I was saying to her.

A bank charge on it's own can't incur another bank charge. Otherwise, manage your money better.

Any idea what will happen then? Thanks for the help, but i don't need to be told how to manage my money

You might get hit with a different charge, or interest or both, but they can't apply the same type of charge for a charge going out.

There are 2 types of charges isn't there? One they called a maintenance charge and another they actually call going over your overdraft. Also honouring a payment, but i think that falls into maintenance charges. £20 & £15 respectfully.

Well apparently you do need to be told if you're coming here seeking information based on you not having enough money in your overdraft. I reiterate as well, not enough money left in your overdraft.

The overdraft is supposed to be a fall back balance as it is.

No, I came here asking what would happen if a charge is actioned on an account with no money in basically.

Not to be told how to manage my money or where I should spend it. Fall back balance? It's so easy to say that, but it helps with big purchases and is a mini loan (free, zero interest may i add)

Credit cards are also meant to be fall back (mostly) but it's so easy to do things with it. I refuse to have one.
