Bank Cycle Time (tRC) too high?

Hi all,

I have a 4GB set of OCZ obsidian.

I have set all of the timings in bios to the timings from the OCUK page (9-9-9-24). But I have noticed that in cpu-z my bank cycle time of 40 is quite a lot higher than other people's.

Should I lower it? Is there a set value that it is supposed to operate at similar to CAS etc? Does it affect performance?

Any help would be amazing. :D

I found increasing the bank cycle time helped improve stability on a dodgy pair of sticks (amongst other settings) before they went for RMA.

My mobo was automatically setting the sticks at 24 and the highest it could go was 28 which did help stability.

From this, you should try lowering bank cycle timings, memtest will show errors if you go too low, but I'm not sure how voltage requirments will change.
