Bank Reference Number

Hi all,

Filling out a payment details form for an employer, and one of the fields is:
Bank/Building Society Reference Number

Does anyone know what this is? It's not the account number or sort code because I've given those in other fields.

Probably a roll number for a building sc account. Just leave it blank.

Some old accounts (usually old book accounts) use a sort code and then eight zeros as the account number, followed by the roll/reference number which is usually 11 -13 digits.

If you have a sort code, and eight digit account number, then ignore it.
