Bank transfer - how long does it take?

I sent some money from my Barclays Internet banking account to another bank on the 7th Aug (Mon) - any ideas how long it will take to turn up?

Depends on who the other bank is. If it is Barclays, it is normally within a day, if it another bank, around 3-4 days.

Thanks. It's another bank - so the money should be there by today at the latest?

EDIT: It *might* be there today, but I wouldn't guarantee it TBH. They can be a bit tempermental at times!

EDIT2: For some reason, credits seem to happen overnight, so if it ain't there now, I wouldn't expect it until Monday...

most of my dealings with people on the MM using different banks (i'm with hsbc) usually takes 2 working days.

Banks computers synch overnight, hence that's when all your automated transactions take place.

Barclays --> 3rd Party = 3 Working days.

Barclays --> Barclays = Instant

So if you send it on monday, its there on wednesday. If you send it on thursday, its there on monday.

Barclays to Barclays is only instant if youve sent money to them before , otherwise its at least 24 hours for online fraud checks

Frustrating isn't it? Then if you don't check the 'save details' box, next time you pay them you have to go through it again!

thats probably your problem they are renowned for being one of the worst banks going even one of their directors said he wouldnt use their credit cards iirc

I don't think Barclays credit cards are much worse than the others? :confused:

one of their own directors said they were infront of a goverment comitee, and i wasnt talking just about their credit cards but about the bank in general when i was self employed i remember talking to other business owners who had nothing but trouble with barclays.
