It’s been a while since I swapped iPhone for iPhone but how easy is it to swap over your banking apps from old to new? Do you need to log back in or does the new iPhone get your login details too?
Pain in the arse for some apps
Mostly you can log in on the new phone, but some apps tie to the hardware and it acts as a digital key, First Direct do this. With them (or at least you used to) you have to unregister the old phone prior to registering a new device.
I recently moved phones and didn't have much of an issue regaining all access.
Yup, they are. I use the following and don't recall too much of an issue with any of them beyond some security questions, a selfie for Starling etc.Ah so it might be different for different apps. I think banking apps are the worst for it though if I remember right.
Typically one would be Barclays hahaBarclays was always a pain in the arse but Monzo was easy, just install the app, it sends an email to your registered address with a link that you follow and that's it, job done.
from a security point of view imaging someone getting access to your email address, unless it also uses phoneID pairing or something and will require to re-auth you of a change of device.Barclays was always a pain in the arse but Monzo was easy, just install the app, it sends an email to your registered address with a link that you follow and that's it, job done.
Great, guess I'll be going through this on Friday thenStarling is the annoying one having to record yourself saying a phrase.
