Banking question

So hopefully i'll be selling my car on bank holiday monday. The guys whos buying it its with lloyds and im with santander. Does a normal faster payment go through within 2 hours even on a bank holiday? Is this the best/safest way?

If you sent a payment over this weekend it would leave your bank and show in the recipient bank immediately*, but with Tues 1st May date on it.

* or within the 2 hours

Eg: I did a lot of my bank transfers (to trigger all the monthly rewards) on Fri 30th March (Good Friday) and even though I could go into each bank and transfer the money out again, they were dated Tues 3rd April....so I missed triggering the rewards
