Hi guys

I am currently thinking about joining a new gym....my old one Fitness First i had issues with, there messing me around with memberships and has really started to wind me up the wrong way, ive been there for 9 months now, my old membership was basically where i could use any of the gym on and off peak times no restriction and paid around £34 a month....Ive decided to cancel my membership with them now and are considering membership at Bannatynes....Could anyone please give me some insight towards what types of memberships are available with them....which is the best and so on.....I usually go to the gym say around 7ish on evenings after work. Would appreciate any advice on any of the above :)

many thanks

how about check the bannatynes website and then give them a call? thats the best way to find out about the place, other than heading off to the closest one.

$loth, MT might not be the sort of thing that the OP is into ;]

Best bet is to go along to your local, ask about fees and pay for a single session before making your mind up. Apparently they're well equiped and not too pricey but obviously that depends on your goals and means respectively.

Thanks very much :) my goal is to lose another stone then build up on the weights.....i used to weigh in at a hefty 23 stone  but now weigh just under 17 , i am 6ft 5 so carry it well now :) ...lost 6 stone in just over 8 months...basically now im after losing another stone then moving on to the weights as well as still doing some cardio.....thanks for your advice tho guys ill pop down to my local one in the morning and check the membership types out :p :)

Thanks

Same deal as me really, except my peak was 19st. I'm 16.5st atm but people are pretty shocked when I tell them what I weigh. I'm ultimately aiming for 15st and reckon I'll be looking pretty good for it, well hopefully anyway. :)

people in general have no concept about weight, they think that you need to be a huge fat waddling mess of a person to be over 16 stone for some reason. let alone 20st or above!

I go to the bannatynes at lakeside costs £50 a month for full membership its a good gym but far too many members for its size. ie trying to a decent workout at 7pm is nigh on impossible (plenty of cardio machines available tho)

is £50 a month for like a 12 month membership??.....im after something like a 3 month one for now...have an afternoon booked in this week at my local one to try out the gym and talk about the differnet membership types so hopefully will be cool :)

Make sure you ask about the amount of notice you need to give to terminate your membership. From memory it used to be 3 months at Bannatynes but some people were taking them to court over this as it was felt to be unfair because Bannatynes were allowed to give the member just 1 months notice if they severed the membership.
