Hiya all,

Currently using Adpeeps banner ad software on a web site im currently working on but I just cant seem to get the rotation working properly. Problem I have is that when ever I use more than 1 rotating banner (javascript based) it all becomes a mess and the ads stop rotating properly.

Does anyone else have experience with this piece of software and using it for multiple rotating ads ?

I basically have 2 banner ads and several small ads which I would like rotating.

Thats essentially the same thing, the software itself is fine, its just I cant seem to get more than one ad to rotate, if i use 2 or more rotating ads only one rotates not at the correct delay speed (instead of 1 ad every 30 seconds it does 3-4 ads in 1 second every 30 seconds) and the other ads dont rotate at all.

Could this be a java issue ? some form of conflict stopping the ads from rotating correctly when more than one instance is used ?

I don't see how adblock is something to boast about. If everyone used it, the internet wouldn't be the same just without the adverts - there would be an absolute fraction of the websites available online. There'd certainly be no Youtube/Dailymotion/********, Google/Yahoo/etc, Facebook/Myspace, ImageShack, IGN/Gametrailers/Megagames... they all rely on adverts to fund them (afaik etc and all the usual disclaimers).

Blocking ads is a bad thing to do. I have adblock installed, but I only block ads that - for example - stop a site from loading due to a broken server. I resent the whole "My internet has no ads!!!!!!!!" thing and really don't find adverts much bother. Sometimes I even click an ad just to give that site a few cents!

Yeh! Adblock is bad. You are the scum of the internet adblock users. And you shall be punished.

Heheh thats such a weak argument, adblock is bad mmkay, we need to spam your vision with jumping monkeys, pressups and pumps all made in flash to fund our websites.

I don't really care about your business models. Just because it is currently working doesn't mean it has legitimacy. I can block the adverts, and so I will.

The commercialization of the internet might have made great strides in some areas, but some terrible strides in others. Google pay per click I can handle, text highlighting I can handle... but stupid flashing multicoloured banners blinking and annoying the crap out of me have no right to be on my screen. If I wasn't atheist I'd say god bless adblock.

I agree with that.

I don't like the annoying flash ones either.

Back on topic, I have never used any software for banner ads.

However, if one of your rotating ads works fine but then have trouble with two then it could either be:

The banners having the same name.

Calling banners from the same folder.

No seperation between each banner which results in the javascript not knowing which one to update and with what.

Just guessing but maybe it is something to look into.

Shoseki I could argue with you all day but I won't. It's not a "weak argument" and blocking every single advert is a bad thing to do. There's very big a difference between blocking annoying/bad/malicious adverts and attempting to get an "ad free internet".

On a similar note, can someone recommend me a good tutorial on how to create a web-based puppy-kicking app?

I'm sorry, saying something is a "bad thing to do" means nothing. According to the bible, I shouldn't work on the sabbath, does that matter to me?

Business models come and go. I have every right to download anything and everything that is made accessible to me, just as I have every right to choose not to download everything that is made accessible to me.

You don't have any rights over my vision, my personal space or anything else. If I walked down the street and something is shouting an advertisement for a newspaper, am I supposed to take my earphones off and listen to him? No, he doesn't own my senses, I do.
