Hi all,

Sorting out the flooring in my house and I'm coming across a snag.
Each door way except one has this thick wooden bar across the floor, anyone have a clue on its purpose?

I cant tell how its held down but they are all there solid.
If I did somehow remove them also there would be a significant gap under the doors which a threshold bar would not fill really.

Its making installing the kitchen laminate a bit of a pain.
Any advice or tips greatly appreciated!

Id cut it off with a multi tool.

or sand it to the same level as the laminate or just below and put the threshold bar across it

edit- have you tried taking the screws out holding it down?

Just unscrew them where you see the indentations?

alternatively just cut the ends and then pry it up with a bar.

Then to top it off, maybe disinfect that corner lol

The indentations were the first thing I checked, no screws oddly. Guessing previous owner tried to put something on it?
Otherwise I would guess its glued down pretty good.

Multi-tool + pry bar sounds the way. Will see how this turns out.

Could do new doors further down the line, as for disinfecting the corner its a perk of owning a dog that loves dragging mud everywhere. :P
