Given what's happening in the region with weather would you risk it or try for refunds?

I know it's cras and people have lost their lives. I just feel like the whole city might be on a bit of a downer and I don't even know long range forecasts....

The extra joy is our return flights are from Barcelona not London so I'm gonna try and rebook all that too or just eat the expense. Lucky it's not much.

I'm probably overthinking all this but time is of the essence and getting through to airlines etc is always a pita.

We were due to go to Valencia tomorrow. We were lucky enough that the hotel allowed us to cancel and promised to refund on a non-refundable room. So you could call them and try.

However since BA have still been flying into Valencia every day ( ) we had to change our flights for a princely admin fee of £124

As we booked this trip a little last minute we’ve now paid something stupid like £560 return (two people) for a weekend break in Valencia in February when it would have cost £200-odd if we’d have booked it from scratch now.

We’ll be taking it up with M&S insurance to get the difference back but they’ve already told us they’re not interested because they reckon we could get to our destination…

Anyway sorry I digress. All you can do is look at the weather. If there’s nothing else expected then I’m sure it’ll be fine. Are trains etc still running? Roads open?

If you’re worried about the “vibe” then maybe look at changing the dates? Hotel might be amenable, try them first. Airlines will do it for a fee as we found out..

Had the same dilemma , booked flights to Barcelona to go to my house near Tarragona , would have felt a bit morbid so lost around £300 in flights and hire car and car parking at Luton for a week (ryanair so pretty much no chance of refunds).
