Barcelona - what to see and do?

Going Barcelona with the Mrs in a couple of weeks. So far on my list is:

The Ramblas
City Bus Tour
Camp Nou

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated :)
 
Park Güell. In fact anything by Gaudi. It will amaze you. My mrs took me out there for my birthday a few years back and the architecture blew me away.
 
I got totally fed up with las ramblas at night.
Bunch of ugly pick pocketing hookers, who need a good beating.

Other than that can't comment much it was a stag do, so heavy drinkin and riots, ****** amazing, middle of the riots on a stag do, brilliant times.
 
the hookers never pick pocketed mine even when i gave one a hug before being pulled away by a mate.. its pretty seedy most the time tho.. its better through the summer when its full of English people.
 
Make sure you do the Sagrada Familia, it's mind blowing :)

Las Ramblas can be dodgy on a night - keep away. In all fairness other than a few shops and a few places to eat there isn't much to do.

Try and get a game in at the Camp Nou, it's some stadium! Atmosphere is great too.

Lots of bars around, so make sure you enjoy your self. Lots of places to visit, lots of lovely architecture. just depends on what you fancy doing! :)

Las Ramblas is a bit of a dump but it's a tourist trap so you kind of know what to expect.

Try and see a Barca game if possible, even if your mrs doesn't like football it's hard not to appreciate the passion and quality of players on show. It's not expensive either.

Have you booked a hotel yet? Hotel Emelia Villa is the place to be.
 
Thanks will defenantly do that one day 1. Can you jump off the bus to see an attraction and get on another one that comes by?

Already sorted the Hotel, that was is too pricey for me. Also I'd like to go to a concert, possibly hear some classical music. Any suggestions?

Apart from the ugly pick pocketing hookers tell me more , I'm on a stag do there this year:D

Yes you can, there are also 3 routes. One does the main attractions, another does the olympic area, mountjuic and the camp nou and the third the coastal part.
 
Sagrada Familia, for sure.

I'd avoid Las Ramblas though. Really not worth it. Up near Catalunya Square is ace though, and all the wee winding streets in the Gothic Quarter are superb. We stayed in the Gothic Quarter and it was brilliant.

The beach is pretty cool too, but a total haven for pickpockets.

I really enjoyed the Olympic complex and Montjuic as a whole is awesome.

Barcelona is my favourite place on earth.

Stay away from Las Ramblas. It's an overpriced, pickpocket ridden tourist trap.

If you're feeling energetic and want to see a lot of the city, I recommend Fat Tire Bike Tours. Get to see most of the popular sites and learn a lot about Barca and Catalan history. really interesting.

For food Tickets is amazing. It's run by one of the chefs from the now closed El Bulli and is outstanding. You need to book 3 months in advance on their website though (so won't help you OP). There's another similar place nearby that's run by an ex-chef of Tickets however which is also really good but the name escapes me just now.

If you like burgers you *have* to go to Kiosko. You'll thank me afterwards.

I loved Barcelona when I went. I could happily have lived there, it's an amazing city :)
 
The only time we were on Las Rambles is when we were cross from the Gothic Quarter to El Raval. El Raval is pretty dodgy in itself, but there's a bar/restaurant in there called Marmalade which has the best chicken wings I've ever had.
 
Since I'm only taking hand luggage with me I can only take 100ml of shampoo, shower gel. Hardly worth the effort of getting 100ml containers and putting it in them, I'd rather buy some from there. Bet they'll be rip off prices though :(
 
Barcelona was amazing. Great City and great people, had an excellent time.

Did the City Bus Tour and got off at the places I wanted to see like the Segarda Familia, Gothic Town, Park Guell etc...

Weather was ideal at around 23C. Main gripe is it was expensive, £7 for a chicken pitta with salad, regular fries and drink. Same thing would cost about £3.50 in the UK.

La Ramblas was my fave, went there every day we just could spend hours walking about and the lady loved the shopping.

I'd recommend it to anyone, just make sure you bring enough Euros with you.
