I used the Barclays app to try and pay a new person. The payment appeared to have completed but the money was still in my bank. I tried to pay again and it said there was a problem. So I ended up paying via Paypal that completed fine.

I did a little checking and it said payments made on bank holidays or weekends wont get paid till next working day.

Does that mean even though the money hadn't left my account and wasn't showing in pending transactions that they are still going to pay it on Monday?

What happens if there isn't enough money in to complete the transaction?

I suspect you'll find the answer on the Barclays banking website if you visit it via a PC rather than a phone. It may also allow you the chance to reverse the payment if it went through and you don't want the hassle of recoving the money you paid twice for, thanks to issues with apps that give grief.

I'll just say this: I spent my entire career pushing back the frontiers of technology and marvel at how far it's come. I exploit the benefits of it all the time, but I wouldn't give house room to a sodding smart phone. It's technology, Jim, but not as we know it.
The first thing I checked was the website. I can't see any payments for that amount pending.
