I'm fairly sure that if you have any other card-readers, these will work exactly the same regardless of which bank they are from.
I used my nationwide one for my natwest card last week and it worked fine.
Can't you just undo the two screws and have a look?
I thought mine was dead for ages, but then one day I realised that it only turns on with a card in it. I was just trying to turn it on by pressing "identify", went about 2 months using other peoples readers at work before I realised...![]()
This makes no sense, surely you would have been doing the same thing on the peoples at work?![]()
They must have changed the design as mine gives battery details on the back "LR44 - 1.5V x 4". Sadly this may also mean yours takes different batteries.anybody know what batteries they are (don't have much in the way of markings on the outside) or will Barclays send me replacements?
Barclays said:How will Barclays know when I need a replacement card reader?
The battery in the card reader should last between five and seven years. When this time
approaches, we will automatically send you a new one.
What happens if I need a replacement card reader before then?
Visit barclays.co.uk/pinsentry to order a replacement. Alternatively, you can replace the
battery yourself. Battery details are on the label on the back of the card reader.
