Bare minimum for 1920 x 1200?

Need a new card now i've got a new monitor.

I've got an 8600gt at the moment and need something a bit better,

don't have a budget set at the moment (cheaper the better) but just after something cheap to put me on till the new year.

Not bothered about max settings in crysis e.g.

So to sum up i need a cheap card that will be a significant improvement over an 8600gt.

what about 4670 or 8800 GS? anyone got these cards they are a bit cheaper

ATI 4850 or 4830... which ever budget allows and get the cheapest you can find.

8800GT or 4830.

8800GS doesn't have the memory or memory bandwidth to really make it useful at 1920x res.

Ok cheers guys may just try and find a cheap second hand GT then get a 4870 or something in the new year

4830 should be fine but I would hang on to the 8800GT and save ** pennies towards a much better GPU next year, something along the line of a 260 or 4870.

4830 is the same performance as the 8800 GT, maybe a bit slower with Nvidia's snazzy new drivers.

No it's not, especially with AA applied.
