Hi guys.

I'm after some advice on a PC for my mother in law. She normally uses laptops but after her last few over the years has decided she wants to have a small pc instead of a cheap laptop. Trouble is I'm not used to building something on a budget. Basically it use is for mainly Facebook games and my kids use it for mine craft / Roblox as well. So the spec's dont have to be a world beater. But needs to last and Im thinking small form factor just for space as it will be in her sitting room.

She will need Window's too. I'm thinking of the AMD CPU route as you can get most bang for your buck. I was looking at the Kaveri CPU? Any advice you can offer would be great.

Basically looking as cheap as possible, which is so hard lol.

Any advice would be great.

Honestly, I would think not much further along. My kids are using an (older) Athlon 645 or similar. It is a quad-core with APU and can run Roblox etc but CPU is at something like 80%.

I would try and move a little up the food chain or alternatively add in a cheap discrete GPU for that side of things.

For email.and websurfing, it will be fine.

Remember, you need to add in Windows so another ~ £100.

You could save a little cash by dropping the DVD drive if she won't need it and swopping the PSU to this https://www.overclockers.co.uk/kolink-kl-400-400w-80-plus-bronze-power-supply-ca-010-kk.html to save another £33.
