Bargain 23"-24" IPS

I know Dell U2412 is good for its price, is U2312HM roughly the same, just a little smaller?

What are those LG or some other brand, that is just as good as Dell? For the same or less money...

The U2312HM is an inch smaller, and has a 1920x1080 res. whereas the U2412M has a res. of 1920x1200. Both very good monitors from what I have heard, I may be getting the U2312HM myself for christmas

I have had problems with LG, Samsung is fine.

I bought a Benq GL2450HM a few months ago and I've been pretty impressed with it. Don't often play games so I can't really judge on that but for general computing it's been great

Have a look at the LG IPS234V I have just picked up a couple for £110 each and they have a superb picture on par with the 23" Dell if not a bit better tbh...

Same panels as the Dell I believe, but they do say the build quality of the Dells are better. I have not had either.

I have had both, The LG's are more vibrant than the Dell's I think they use 8 bit AH-IPS panels and the Dell are 6 bit ?

The build quality is ok on the screen itself but the stand is pretty crappy and not a patch on the Dell's. I used desk arms for mine.

Just had a look and both the Dell 2312 and LG IPS234 use LM230WF3 A-FRC panels which are 6 bit.

I'm really happy with the LG's although the stand is really bad. If you intend to use the supplied stands the extra for the Dell would be worthwhile.

I really like a good versatile stand, that comes with the monitor, so I guess the Dell looks a little better at the moment.
And of course I'll look at the BenQ GW2450HM more closely.
