just bought a 5 month old Onkyo TX-SR605 in black for...........*drum roll*.....................£290.

is this a good price ? i have until friday to decide if i still want it

That is indeed a bargain, they seem to be going for around £320 - £340

Edit: Now change that number, I may want to sell mine and want to get a sensible number for it

well i seen them new for £400 and this one is in perfect condition, used a few times due to it being in a games room and the guy been away in the army sounds like im a winner ............. until i tell the misses i bought it

The 606 is due out soon I've seen for £400, 605 is £350 new.

I get the impression that the Yam 761 might be a good competitor to that, and can be bought new for £200. The Yam has slightly different specs (can't handle HD bitsteam, but does have pre-outs). Might be worth considering.
