ok well i need a few bits upgrading in a 2nd PC, and ive been lookign around and see what some other people say,

I NEED :

CPU + HS - Fan
Graphics Card
Memory (2GB)
Motherboard

I HAVE :

Just 200, possibly at a push 250.

This is pretty much just used for gaming so i want the best i can expect.

thanks guys

howabout a nice intel setup? :D should get 3ghz easily on stock cooling (if not more).

that gpu you picked is pre-order so i chose the next one up in price that's in stock. :)

E2180 Will not hit 3ghz with stock cooler, he will have to be extremely lucky.

They're good OCers but not THAT GOOD.

I'll go with

Go with Marc's suggestion, perfect for the money and from what i have read on this forum most e2*** series CPUs will hit 3GHz on stock heatsink and it will defo be faster in games than the AMD equivalent event if u only get to 2.8GHz.

Just a quick spec here should do the job you should upgrade the graphics card for gaming ut ive only done it to your budget

a 3650 for gaming?

I'm still on a 6600 and it still runs cod4 and stuff fine and I was trying to speck to the £200 mark as well.
Id rather have a better base spec as gpu is easy to upgrade.

All though your spec is rather tasty.. What's the heat sinks like?

could replace the 4850 with a 2nd hand 8800 series for around £50 to get it down to the £200 mark

but at what res/details? i hear cod4 is well optimised but a 6600? come on, be serious. :)

well the stock isn't great.... but it's not terrible either. i had a 2180 myself @ 3ghz with the stock cooler and it maxed out around 70c under prime load.... but remember not many programs utilise a cpu like prime does. certainly games will never cause it to get anywhere near those temps.....

that's certainly a valid option. :)
