For all the "bad" things she brought in, which have been repealled? Labour had a very long time to do so, but chose not to, instead putting this country into a worse financial mess than possible as they knew they wouldn't get in at the next election and so Conservatives would be known for their austerity measures. Again.

I am old enough to remember growing up under Thatchers rule and like every other sheeple, I was grateful when Labour came to power. Little did I realise that change is not necessarily a good thing.

Thatcher was a good leader and is worth 100 of the current crop of politicians, making the tough decisions that nobody else would dare make. To speak ill of her goes to show how vile some people are whose parents have brainwashed them into hating something they could never have an opinion on. Its rather pathetic actually.

Do you honestly think someone in their right mind would blame the Prime Minister - to wit Mrs M Thatcher - for their calcium deficiency as a child, owing to her removing the free 1/4 pint bottle of milk from their daily diet.

Another history correction :)

Ted Heath was prime minister, Margaret Thatcher was education secretary at the time.

and it was a third of a pint of usually, luke warm full fat milk, ycchh!

I hope you're joking?

It's on the Beeb. It isn't technically a state funeral because that would require a motion to be passed in the Commons, which I'd imagine is rather unlikely.

Frankly, I'm not so hot on the idea. As much as I admired her I fear it'll do little more than cause an enormous amount of trouble, this thread is a microcosm of it.

That's correct - apologies for my indescretion!

My memory is hazy, caused by a lack of Vitamin D as a youth

Guys, please remember that no matter how much you may not have liked her, she was a human being with a family. That family are grieving at the loss of a loved one.

Some posts show such a lack of respect for the fact that someone has died, it utterly disgusts me.

Love her or hate her, her death should be treated with respect.
