I did not know about this. Complete legend he was. Didn't realise he was that old either.

Sad news. One of the UK's most beloved child entertainers died suddenly yesterday. Barry Chuckle (Real name: Barry Elliott), half of the illustrious slapstick comedy duo, The Chuckle Brothers.

This is a terrible shock that penetates deep into the heart of the UK comedy scene, he will sadly missed by many. His brother, Paul, has understandbly yet to comment. Details of his death are uncertain at the moment, certain sources report of a heart attack at the dynamic duos home in their native Rotherham.

Is this true ? Nothing on bbc site i can find.

I met them once actually. Tried to be funny, when asking for my sisters name (sophie) they said "oh i have one of those. i sit on it" ... meaning sofa. Comedy genius i think not.
