Barry Humphries: Dame Edna Everage comedian dies at 89

I was hearing about him being in hospital and expecting to be out and touring soon.

A sad twist. He's had a long life with many memories created.

RIP

Such a shame, he had a good run though. Humphries was extremely quick witted, and could think on his feet very well, which gave him the edge in humorous exchanges.

none of the modern ones, are funny though , or, have reached the level of mutual celebrity interviews.

Dame Edna Everage leaves King Charles & Camilla in hysterics

Todays are drag acts first, comedians second, the likes of Humphries and O’Grady were comedians first, like Dick Emery (Ooh you are awful, but I like you)

None of todays drag acts would be anything without the drag part, Humphries and O’Grady didn’t need the drag to be funny.

O’Grady and his early drag performances were iconic to the early woke movement of challenging the anti lgbtq police and laws.

Which of todays drag acts would you say haven’t got pure comedic talent? You seem to be a keen study of drag performance to be able to say this.
