Barry Norman has died

Died from lung cancer. Used to watch him regularly on 'Film (insert year, 72 to 98 )'. Great presenter, really enjoyed his views on movies. Well, 83 years old, these things happen. And why not?

Sorry to hear, he was my favourite film xx presenter, much better & more informed than most of the newer ones.

Sad news. Another childhood face gone. Loved his programme. Will never forget the little piano jazzy theme tune.

Some people may have found him opinionated and elitist, aside from occasionally fawning over actress's (pfeiffer being most noticeable) he was easily the best film critic in my lifetime. Alex Cox on moviedrome a close second.

Sad loss and a reminder of how far a great show can drop, without such an individual talent!

Used to love that show, would set it to record as it was on late. I always think of the review he did of Predator whenever I think of him
