Hi,

Please could you give me some advice. I would like to spend about £450 on a system that I can easily upgrade in the near future 3-6 months time, I could probably spend another £200 - £400 in a few months. I was thinking I could make do with a cheap or even no GFX card now and upgrade later?

I have never built a system before but have added many components. I'm not interested in over clocking, I just wants something that works out of the box to it's optimal performance. Plug and play.

I have a keyboard, mouse, speakers, 23" HP E321 monitor and a couple of old 750mb drives I could potentially use for storage. I would also need an OS.

I will be upgrading from a laptop which I mainly use for web browsing and storing photos / video but I would like something I can play games like Elite, Eve and COD / Battlefield FPS's.

What are your thoughts, could anyone spec me a build, are there any great deals that makes it worth buying now or is it worth waiting 3-6 months?

Thanks in advance.

Can you stretch anymore on the budget? maybe an additional £100?

£450 is really the top end of my budget at the moment. I like the look of the 8 Pack bundle but with my very limited knowledge would I get the full benefit?

Any other suggestions closer to the £450 mark that will perform out of the box without the OC?

If you could get windows some other way that opens up a nice chunk of budget?
For example using the ISO from microsofts website and buying a windows 10 key online somewhere (reddit sell them for example) that would save you a lot of money

This if you already have a key, or get an older version for cheap and use the free upgrade. You have a great base there, just needing a graphics card at a later date..

With the 8 Pack bundles you have to overclock it yourself but you do get very good instructions on how to do it here http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18709077

Many thanks for all the advice. Considering the options and the sheer value for money the 8Pack i5 6400 gives it would be silly for me to not to go for it. I'm a bit worried about fiddling around and over clocking but I guess I would have the option to build it up stock and then OC later once I am more confident.

I would like to order tomorrow for Thursday delivery so have changed to the Bronze EVGA power supply as it's in stock.

I can up the budget to £750 to also include a GPU, DVD/R and I guess I would need a wifi card as I can not hard wire at the moment but may be able to later?

Could I ask for some suggestions to add a GPU, DVD/R and Wifi card within the £750 budget please.

Many thanks
