I've been reading around, but seem to have come across a lot of different figures for the intended overclocks i wanted to go for, and they are mainly for 4ghz overclocks or higher which is fine for what i want!
Here's my setup:
Asus P6X58D-E
Patriot Viper 6GB DDR3 12800C8
Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz
I'll be going straight into a watercooled single loop of the cpu only so should be able to easily get to 4Ghz, but wondered if anyone else had the same setup and had some base figures to work from for everything as this is my first i7 build!
I imagine i'll be able to go above 4Ghz, but i'll try that when i get to it
(Also my first watercooling build so it may take a while before it's fully up as i want to get it spot on!)
I hope you don't read it as a post of "i'm too lazy to search" as i've been doing a lot of searching, but not found exactly what i was looking for so hopefully i can get it all contained in this thread, which will also help others!

( I will be posting a build log up in the forums when i get the stuff tomorrow for those who are interested; a Corsair 800D single loop (currently) just cooling the CPU at the moment )
