Basel to Zurich

Hi all,

Me and the parents are away to Zurich next month. The only direct flight we can get is from EDI > BSL. We are then going to get the train from Basel to Zurich.

Im just wondering if its cheaper pre-booking train tickets online or just buying tickets at the station when we arrive there?

had a a quick look out of curiosity and bus seems to be much cheaper.
any reason why you travel on train? it's only 1h journey anyway.

**** easy on the train. Just buy them at the station when you're there. Sorted. Don't think it's any cheaper buying online before. Swiss trains aren't massively cheap in general.

I stayed in Basel last December and used train to get down to Luzern. On the SBB site if you buy a ticket to get a train at a certain time you can save money over buying an open ticket. Against each train time there was a super saver option and we used that to save a fair bit of money.
